Welcome to the Old Toy Knitting Shop

At the Old Toy Knitting Shop, we sell vintage/old toy knitting patterns from a large collection gathered over many years. We are keen knitters and now design beautifully reformatted/laminated vintage/old toy knitting patterns in large print and presented in a comb binder; so no more squinting or worrying about spoiling that precious toy knitting pattern.

Also featured here is the work of GEORGINA MANVELL; a very talented knitting and crochet designer whose patterns have been shown in My Weekly and Home & Country (WI) magazines. She is also well known for her work as a tutor at Denman College (Women's Institute) near Oxford. Her most famous pattern is for Little Knittington; a beautiful knitted village. Her new designs will be featured soon; so watch this space!

Vintage Meg Rabbit 1930s

Message from Meg: This old pattern does not give my finished size but I think I measure 18"to 24" tall when complete. My picture certainly does not do me justice but I would love to be knitted in modern wools and perhaps have two lovely new eyes instead of only one!!

Vintage Alice in Wonderland

This pattern includes The Mad Hatter(12") He has a Navy jacket ; pink trousers,black shoes and a smart red tie.

March Hare (8"). He is knitted in fawn with a blue coat and yellow tie.

The White Rabbit (8"). Knitted in white, with a red & white waistcoat, red jacket, a ribbon cravat and a crochet watch chain.

Lambs and Lullabies by Georgina Manvell

This pram/basket cover measures approx 56 x 40 cm (22 x 15.5 in) when completed in DK yarn. It can easily be adapted to fit a cot by widening the border. It even has a Fair Isle patterned reverse side.

This lovely pattern was designed by the very talented designer Georgina Manvell for Home & Country WI magazine in 1984 and was displayed at the WI Life & Leisure Exhibition Olympia 1984.
